Yes, I remember that one. They though the eastern and western ground parrots were different subspecies but they then discovered they were actually two different species which makes them even more rare than they were before (there are only five species of ground dwelling parrots and they are all in big trouble).
Years ago I watched a nature program about ground parrots. I don’t remember the program or the kind of parrot. These things were so rare that they were surprised to find one. These parrots were so rare that the parrot ran towards them and claimed a boot as his mate. They had a little trouble getting away from him as he wanted to keep mating.
