Would you consider 'softer' birds to be boring?

Species such as the pionus, meyer’s, linnies, etc… seem to portray a much more docile temperament compared to some others in the parrot family. I have heard that pionus parrots resemble ‘classical music’ and as much interest that people seem to have in them, I personally find them to sound rather boring. But then again, I’ve never met one.

I tend to stray away from birds like lennies and bugdies because they don’t seem to be as "parrot like"but I don’t mind at all a pionus, I think the bronze winged pionus is a gorgious bird, and I don’t find a docile temperament to be “boring”, the biggest thing I look for in a parrot breed is their personallity, playfulness, and if they are really docile, so be it! heck, I could say I might even prefer a bird like that.but that all hinges on how you describe docile, I describe it as more gentle, quieter, softer to the touch ETC, and in which case, most of the time I would prefer it. that being said I am shooting for a parrotlet, so for the most part, it takes a back-seatTrey

Just because they are less feisty, doesn’t mean they’re boring. A lot of people disregard cockatiels and budgies because they think they are boring. But they make fantastic pets, and have fantastic personalities. I’m actually more attracted to the “softer” birds.I’d love to have a white capped pionus, and I really love most of the Australian parakeets. Birds like the Bourke’s seem so pleasant.

I guess I just like attitude!Although… I am very drawn to Meyer’s parrots, I think the colorful subspecies looks stunning!

I love loud obnoxious birds but am fascinated by quiet “thoughtful” ones. I wouldn’t say they’re boring per say, at least not to me, but their charms are little more subtle

If we’re talking loud and obnoxious in a parrotlet, cute!If a macaw, not so appealing all of a sudden.Zaza, what attracts you to the Australian parakeets? Is there something special about them that separates them from other groups of parrots?Unfortunately I find bourke’s to be highly unattractive.

GlassOnion, hmm, I was actually listening to the song glass onion earlier when looking at one of your posts, talk about ironic

Where do you think I got the idea for my username?

well, certainly not this:
